I need to know the cost of living in uk ?
and is it good or bad salary .
Answers:
Hi, That salary sounds about average, around £600 a week. Its a little bit more than i have been earning as a construction teacher at a college. The first thing that you may notice is the soaring cost of fuel. especially for your car. Diesel Vehicles now have concessions, this means lower road tax and for cars 1000cc to 1500cc, lower road tax as well, currently petrol is around 0.96p pre litre, diesel isnt much better. 3 bedroom house rents are around £200- 250 a week, dependant on area. Your weekly shop, dependent on your taste and where you buy should be around £70 a week, we have 2 kids and its around 60, but we dont go overboard. Taxation isnt that good at around 22% and dont forget there is national insurance contributions, we have a free national health service thats why., water rates and council tax can top things up as well, its a great place to live and work, its also expensive.

Don't come to Britain, it's an overpriced rainy sh*thole.
The property market has lost touch w. reality and prices are currently insane but rents have been stagnant now for 3 years (at v. high levels). London is much more expensive than anywhere (except spa towns and resorts) but you can rent a small house in the suburbs or elsewhere for £800 to £1300 a month on a 6 month or annual contract. Average (middle class) salary is around £24,000. Depending on the job you've got there £2450 is plenty and should yield all kinds of allowances and even tax credits w. two kids & wife to support.
pretty much twice that of usa. so take your usa expenses and multiply by two is what i would say since the uk is twice the currency.
