There is mistake in my dob on my pan card ? can it be rectified?

the date of birth on my pan card has been mentioned as 01/1 instead of 01/7.if it can be rectified would my number change?

Its not as difficult as it looks like:
go to incometax web site ... go to pan card section...look for a form for correction in pan card... take print out...go to your nearest UTI center...u can find the list in same site...for small fees ...it will be done
