Why does my tax code keep changing?

Answer:
Depends on many different things usually because you owe tax on some benefit you've had. It might be worth phoning your local IR to make sure they haven't got a benefit against your code that you don't / haven't had. Ie company car, use of company mobile etc
They're trying to confuse you into making a mistake, then they can land a huge tax bill on you for putting in the wrong code.
New laws are constantly being made.
it changes as you get older, earn more. get married, die,. maybe you where on super tax etc. ask your payroll dept to clarify things
if you are in new employment you will have an emergency code and be paying too much tax which you will get back on a sliding scale - the less of the year you work, the more you will get back.
incompetence from your payroll department.
tax codes change with new sources of income!!
