Delinquent Property Taxes?

I am delinquent in paying my property taxes. I can pay them on Monday. However, I looked up the information and found a tax certificate had been issued. What steps do I need to tax now? Do I owe interest? Will I be able to pay the county? Any information is appreciated greatly! I live in Pasco County, FL

Answers:
Call the Pasco County Tax Collector on Monday morning. If the certificate has been sold, then the Tax Collector can tell you how to pay the Certificate holder. If not, then you just pay the Tax Collector. There are several offices in Pasco County, call the one nearest you.
you have to redeem the tax certificate. you'll owe taxes & some minimum guaranteed return to whomever purchased it plus fees. I believe in Floridal, you can do this at your county tax collectors office.

and let this be a more-expensive lesson than it need be about paying your RE taxes on time.
If a tax certificate has been issued and purchased you will owe that person the tax plus interest. Call the tax collection office they will likely be able to tell you what you will owe. If you do nothing the title will pass to the person that bought the tax certificate. You will no longer own the property.
