Is it correct that Polish people working in the UK have to declare their earnings to their government?
Anyone know any different?
Answers:
If they are resident in the Uk for tax purposes, they would be liable to UK tax on their worldwide income, with credit given for any overseas tax paid. Poland may require them to pay Polish tax, but they would get credit for UK tax paid.
I work with lads from the Czech republic, and they declare their earnings to the tax man.
No, this is not true. There is a double taxation agreement in place between the two countries, so you only have to pay in one.
Generally speaking if you are working in the UK you just pay tax to the UK government.
You might even be due a refund like I was. It might be an idea to check out:

When I left the UK, I got a refund because I only worked part of a tax year.
Yes of course. In UK they are treated just the same as anyone else with the same tax free allowances.
Yes they do. My pals are Polish & I think they have to complete some sort of tax statement every year. My wife is Brasilian & it's the same for them as well.
