Can a regular person open a bank account in the Cayman Islands?

and how easy is it to get money in and out?

Would it be free from income taxes? What are the advantages? I have about $40,000 I could deposit. What rate of return could I expect to get?

If anybody has any experience there, please let me know.

That is one of the links that I found on the internet regarding a directory of banks in the Cayman islands, Some of the banks have additional information that you can look at, The other site that you can see is here

I have never had a large amount of money to deposit anywhere so good luck and all..

You know some of these banks might have online banking to make things easier for you.
Why would you trust an offshore account? Not like you can ever check on it.
A ' regular person ' as well as an ' irregular person ' can open a Bank Account in Cayman Islands.
I know someone who used to bank in the Caymans and before 9/11 you got away with hiding the money. I guess now they are able to check on it.don't know for sure the reason but I do know this person no longer puts money in Cayman accounts.
