If someone is left £7,500 in a Will do they have to pay tax on it and if so how much? Not me LOL?

Answers:
Depends. The estate (of the deceased) pays inheritance tax, but there is a threshold of around £215,000 (I might be wrong on the amount but around that). So it depends on the value of the estate.

But no, whoever receives the £7500 wont have to pay tax on that.
no
u do not have to pay tax on gifts under 10,000 pounds the tax would have been taken out when the deaf duties were paid t
I can only suggest there would be a lot of conditions that would modify the answer, such as person's income level and whether or not it is exempt as the Crown may tax the estate first, If that was the case the answer may be no tax. Unless you know all the variables you can't answer it.

Will it rain tomorrow? Depends where. someplaces yes, some no.
inheritance tax is a killer, can be up too half of what u inherit!

tell your mate to get the money quite and hide it or spend it, tax man cant get it then, lol x x x
No, it's not treated as "income" for tax purposes.
on ?7,500 you should not have to pay taxes .i believe if you inherit 600,000 or more then you have to pay taxes. too be sure talk to your tax person
Go and celebrate! £7,500 is peanuts and no one has to pay any tax. Only if the deceased leaves more than £300,000 his estate is liable to 40% tax on the difference.
Probably not.

If the deceased persons' estate was worth enough then tax would have already been paid before being distributed.

If someone was given money BEFORE the giver died, and then did not survive for more than 7 years, then there may be tax due.

But if it was left in a will then no tax will be due by the recipient.
No there is no tax liability on this amount!
Tell your friend to enjoy and spend spend spend!
You know who!
The recipient never has to pay. The estate might have to pay but that does not affect the amount paid out...
No it is a gift.

Inheritance tax is paid on the total estate and it is done before you receive any money from the estate. So you should have nothing to worry about.
