How do i find out if my tax return has been filed?

i let a person do my taxes, but i don't know if they filed them and i can't get a hold of them.

Answer:
look in your phone book under internal revenue taxes.there is a 800 automated number.
Call IRS. Go to:

http://www.irs.gov/localcontacts/index.h.

find your state and city and ask directly. IF e-filed, have your batch number to declare that you have filed.
Go to www.irs.gov and fill out a form called 4506-T. Call the IRS at 1-800-829-1040 and ask them. You could also go to a tax professional and have them fill out a POA or a form 8821 and they can call other #s that we have (not available to the public, sorry) and answer it for you. I know my office does this at no cost to our customers, but I don't think too many other people do.
