Are there any additional costs when receiving a package from china or japan/asia?

when purchasing sth online there is no way to calcualte such costs

Answer:
There could possibly be an import duty, but most likely not unless it is something very expensive.
Some online companies (such as Amazon) has a price breakdown printed on the outside of the package, and some online shops in Japan writes the total value of the items in the package near the postage or in the package's declaration label. If this is the case, you may be entitled to pay customs duty.

Your country may have a tariff reduction for items from certain countries (eg. Singapore and US). However, other than the custom duty in your country, there are no extra charges for packages from China/Japan/Asia.
