I am 90% sure we do (I live in NY too), and it is very late (first week before school). We've had Tax-free Weeks (not weekends) for many years in a row right at the very end of summer. I was as shocked as you when I read the announcement and NY wasn't on the list. However, MA isn't that far away, and all retail items under $5K are tax-free as compared to $110 in NY. That means if you're into couture, or at least deasigner jeans and name-brand clothes, I'd go for a wkend trip to MA.
As of April 1, 2006, clothing that costs less than $110 is not taxable in New York State. However, the counties and cities can still enact their portions of sales tax.
