If you have a baby by the beginning of next year 2007can you claim it as a dependent for 2006?
Answer:
Nope, the kid has to hit the ground before midnight Dec. 31, 2006 to be counted for 2006 taxes.
If the child is not born in 06, it is not a dependent, so no you cannot
No, the child would have had to been born and lived with you for at least 6 months in 06 to claim it. I had my son at the beginning of '05 so I have the experience from that to tell you.
No, the baby would need to be born in 2006
Nope. The baby becomes a dependent AFTER it is born.
No not possible does belong to the period under consideration
No, but I think it should be. Medical care is expensive, as are maternity clothes, vitamins, and the extra food you're supposed to eat.
No. Use your head.
You can claim your baby as long as he/she is born on or before December 31, 2006!
only if born in 2006. please don't force labor to get the kid into the world under the wire.
yes
Nope. I got lucky with my first kid he was born on Dec. 31st right on time, If he would have been born only a few hours later, I would not have been able to claim him.
If the baby is born in 2006 you can claim it for your 2006 Tax year. If it is born on January 1, 2007 you cannot claim it in 2006. Joe
