How tough is the CPA exam?

How many days is it? Is it grueling? If you know your stuff, should it be easy?

Answer:
The CPA exam is a difficult one - less than 20% pass the first time. Even though it is difficult, it is certainly passable. I passed on the first time using Becker review course. It took about 5 1/2 months of studying and test taking.
Its a difficult test, but well worth it if you are going to pursue a career in accounting.

I took the exam about 5 years ago when it was still a paper exam, it has since become computerized. Grueling is probably a good way to put it, it is a 2 day test with about 12-14 hours of total testing time.

If you know your stuff, the exam is fairly easy, I studied a ton and scored pretty well on 3 of the sections and lucked out and passed the 4th. The exam is curved.
