Hi , not sure if you will find this info useful:

County Court or High Court debts
You can apply to the court to suspend the bailiff’s warrant. If your application is successful, the bailiff will not be allowed to take your goods.

If the bailiff is collecting a County Court debt you need to fill in form N245: Application for suspension of a warrant and / or variation of an instalment order. You can either collect the form from your local County Court, or download form N245: Application for suspension of a warrant and / or variation of an order (external website / pdf document), from the Court Service website.

There is a fee for making this application but not everyone has to pay it. Please contact your local County Court for more information.

If you do not have to pay the fee you will need to fill in form Ex160: Application for a fee exemption or remission (external website / pdf document).
These forms are also available from your local court.

Form N245 will ask you to make an offer of payment. Make sure you only offer an amount you can afford to pay. If you are not sure how much to offer, get advice. Once you have lodged the application with the court, you can ring the bailiffs and ask them to hold action until the court has made a decision. In Manchester, they are often willing to do this.

If the sheriff (high court bailiff) is collecting a High Court debt, you should get advice immediately.

Other debts
You can contact the creditor (the person who has asked the bailiff to call) and ask them to withdraw the bailiff. The creditor is only likely to do this if you offer to pay back the debt. You should not offer to repay the debt at a rate you cannot afford.
Go to www.advicekit.info to download the forms or better still go to your local court.
Good Luck

today its monday here, if not Friday... go plead your case, pay the fine, pay the bill ect... remember that this is not a bad situation... only one thats needs resolving and lesson learned...
First pray, because you are in a pickle. You need to talk to the local agency that provides free legal services, contact your local BAR association, start there.
Get to CAB tommorow morning and tell them it`s urgent and you need help as the bailiffs are coming or is it possible for you to get to the council offices and come to an arrangement to pay a little each week or month. Hope you get sorted...
Email me, I need more details. I have experience with this and can tell you everything you need to know, but I need to know more.
sell your computer an pay up! if you can afford a computer you can afford to pay your council tax!!
Why not take out a loan to pay the bill. When you have set up the loan, tell them that you understand the situation and are seriously in the process of trying to restructure your finances in order to ensure that you keep your head above water.
You might of left it to late . Did the bailiffs leave you a warning letter saying you have to pay in full or your goods will be removed to pay your debt ? If they did you have to pay it by law. With or without your permission they can enter your home and seize your goods . If you try to stop them the police will be called and allow the bailiffs to do their job .

You will of had many letter and court requests for the money owing from the council office . The bailiffs are used for non payment of council tax as the last resort and usually final.

Contact a debt helpline or citizens advice bureau asap .
If you've let them into your house theres nothing at all you can do - you dont even have to be there for them to do it. Once they've been in you're stuffed, pay up or lose your stuff.

Be prepared for how they'll act too, they will take sentimental items that are of little or no value to make you pay up, they're evil bastards - they know what they're doing and dont care.
Well, the council wouldn't just send bailiffs round straightaway for non-payment, you've obviously been ignoring their letters hoping it'll go away. You shouldn't have let it get this far. First of all, the bailiffs will have to prove that the goods belong to you before they can take anything. Best thing to do first is ask a friend if they can store your most valuable stuff, so at least you won't end up losing that. Also, contact your local CAB office and see what your rights are. In future, when you find yourself in debt, just contact the company and make an offer of payment in installments, it saves a lot of hassle. Good luck.
Okay if it really is this bad, I suggest put all your most important posessions at your friends / familys house - as much as you can. Then make sure all of your curtains are closed so that they cant see in and pretend that you are not in. An old work colleague of mine dodged the baliffs for ages by doing that.

You may not have money but if your credit rating is ok then you can of course get credit very quickly. Being in debt doesnt matter if you know how to blag the system. Friends of mine work for banks say it doesnt matter how much debt you run up on a credit card because if you dont own stuff like house / car / stock then you can declare your self bankrupt they wont take anything, your debt is ERASED and your credit rating goes back to normal in 7 years! I've only heard that from random conversations but if you're desperate you might as well look into it and go 4 it. I wish you the best of luck.
