- Before sending your business plan to lenders and investors, send it out first to a few in order to get feedback. You’d want to correct your plan if someone tells you that you’re way off mark, rather than have a potential investor tell it to you and lose the chance to get the funding you need.

Your best bet is to contact your local SBA or SBDC office. They can actually help you create your business plan and point you in the direction of approved SBA lenders. They've been doing it for years so they know what their doing. I've worked at the SBA for 6 years before I began working full time for a private business consulting firm. Professional services range anywhere from $3000 to above. Why pay so much when your government tax dollars have already paid for funding for programs such as the SBA and the SBDC.
