I am trying to get people to know my website. What should I do to get them to notice it?

When you are trying to get people to see your items, make sure you have a place to show them online. Do you use e-Bay to sell your items? How about LiveDeal.com? The nice thing about LiveDeal.com is that you can sell whatever you want locally or nationally and it is free. With e-Bay you have your e-Bay fees (but a lot of people looking at your items.) There is also the Yahoo Auction site as well as Google Base.
There are also a lot of different ways to get your site seen. Go to USFreeAds.com and you can list whatever you want there for free. Or if you pay $10.00 (a year), you can list whatever you want for 40 days. If you have a free account with them, your ad gets lost pretty fast. You can also go to Craigslist.org and list anything you wish to sell for free.
Another thing that you can do is start visiting Traffic Exchanges. That is where you look at other people's websites while they look at yours. The most successful one out there is TrafficSwarm.
I make my living by selling online and have been doing so for over two years. I work from home and use many different sources to get my websites seen. Luckily enough for me, I also have been successful enough to work from home for those years as well.

You should visit other people's spaces, leave a message, and invite them to your space, also email all your friends and send them a link, nice if you can add some picks too, and add your link to yoursignature on your emails. um. according to the myspace terms and agreements, you cannot use your myspace.com account for any commercial purpose... what you are doing is illegal and immoral. go pay 3 bucks a month for your own dot com site
First of all, if you are trying to run a business, you should not be using myspace. Most people hear myspace and they think of teens and 20 somethings swapping pics and hooking up. It would not be the place where most people would go to buy antiques.
You can get free hosting through geocities and buy a domain name for about $8. It's a good investment and will make you look much more professional.
As far as how to advertise, it really depends on who you are trying to market to and in what area. Are you doing online sales? If so, Google Adwords might help drive traffic. However, if you are sticking local, that probably won't help. If local, flyers are good, hand out business cards (free at vistaprint), post on local news groups and message boards (don't spam though).
You have to be creative.
