Answer:
Don't want to sell your item below a certain price? Set a reserve price!
A reserve price is a tool sellers can use to stimulate bidding on their auction-style item while reserving the right not to sell below a price they have in mind.

Many sellers have found that too high a starting price discourages interest in their item, while an attractively low starting price makes them vulnerable to selling at an unsatisfactorily low price. A reserve price helps with this.

How does it work?

A reserve price is the lowest price at which you are willing to sell your item. If a bidder does not meet that price, you're not obligated to sell your item. You set your reserve price, as well as a starting price, when you list your item.

The reserve price is not disclosed to bidders, but they will be told that your auction has a reserve price and whether or not the reserve has been met.

All Reserve Price Auctions are subject to a Reserve Price Auction Fee that is refunded when you successfully complete your auction on eBay. If your item does not sell, this fee is not refunded.

Leave the reserve price field blank if you don't want to use a reserve price.

You may lower your reserve price after you receive bids on the item.

Restrictions: Reserve Price Auctions are not available for Multiple Item Auctions
option 1 use a reserve
option 2 start the price at break even
NEVER start your bidding out at less than you'd be willing to accept. You can also do a reserve auction where you can start your bidding lower, but you can have a reserve price. That way, you don't have to sell it if your reserve price isn't met. You probably know that if someone bids and wins, you HAVE to sell it to them at the price they won at. You can't just not sell it because you didn't get what you wanted for it.
You can charge more for shipping at a fix rate to make up for cost item. That's how its always been done.
Never start the bidding lower than you can afford to sell the item for unless you are SURE that you have an item that will sell well. If ALL of the other similar items have sold for the kind of price you want then thats obviously a high-demand item and you can start the bidding low to get interest. Otherwise, start the bids at the minimum you are willing to accept for the item.
BTW. most often those dropshippers are kind of a scam. If you can buy from them, so can anyone else so you won't get good prices for the merch. Not only that but the market will be flooded with other people selling the same items. Maybe you found a good one but I would be very leary.
Remember, if there were an easy to way to make big bucks quick on ebay, nobody would work a regular job anymore.
My Gosh, what are all these people telling you?

I have products I sell on Ebay all the time and I start the bidding at $1 for items that sell for $40 all the time. I also offer FREE SHIPPING on my listings and absorb the cost in my price.

I always sell for more than similar items on Ebay that charge for shipping after you add all the costs. I know before I list what they will sell for and always get more. It's called momentum and is the reason for using an auction in the first place.

If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen!
