What is a good place to advertise for my business?
Our target clients are business owners. Where should I advertise to reach these people?
Are there any cable networks related to business or any magazines or newspapers that would be relevant.
Answer:
There's TONS of business and tech mags you could advertise in---go to a book/periodical store & see.
Also, try your own website and the yellow pages.
The local business journal.
If your Chamber of Commerce has a publication, that would be a good place.
Talk radio stations. They usually do news in the mornings, and business owners listen.

A friend of mine in oregon started up the same type of business that you are doing and including computer service and repair,
He ran a number of full page ads in the nickel ads, I don't know where you are lotcated, I think it caosts about 1500 bucks, however thin thing that he ran into was that you don't get a whole lot of calls right off the bat, people will keep your ad and call you when they have a problem, he's had them up to a year later, I think he ran like three or four ads in different areas of the protland market and he now has it established to where he just gets word of mouth and the customers that he gets from the ads, He's been at it for about four years now.

I would focus your web advertising on your local areas first. The reason is, you are more likely to get local business first. The cost will be substantially less. I would find the local chambers of commerce and advertise on their websites.
Another idea, direct mail to small businesses in a particular city. For example, I just built a database of 18,000 small to mid size business owners here in South Florida. I pay 150.00 per month for a lead service that provides me with the downloadable database. I hired a data entry person 8.00 per hour to input the data into ACT! contact management software, and now I send out about 200 mailings per week as part of my campaign to reach small business owners. I find it to be money well spent.
You can also contact S.C.O.R.E and they will help you with marketing ideas, and the advice they give you, free!
