All I can say is do your research, there are a lot of good opportuniteis to work at home. You just need to find something you are comfortable with. If it cost money to check it out, it is probably not worth or it is a scam.
Avoid all the solicitations you will be getting to this question. They copy and paste there same speach to every question like this, if they have to find people this way I would question it.

Most are legal, but are really "Get Rich Quick" schemes for the employer, where you have to pay them, or work like crazy for pennies.

oh yes.. there are... but yes very few..before that there is a warning you need to know.... there are many home based jobs available on net but the thing is that there are also many spammers among them too. so what u need to do is NEVER PAY ANYONE ANYTHING AT ALL FOR A JOB YOU DO FOR THEM AND NO MATTER HOW TEMPTING THEY MAY SOUND. COZ THEN THEY HAVE A CHANCE TO BE A SCAM.
