Does an internet cafe grow into big business. or will it just remain an interenet cafe forever?

For most communities, I don't believe its a viable business model in and of itself.
If you have a huge population of tourists or other people who need quick internet access, and aren't staying at a hotel that offers it, or have any other means of access, then maybe. Some place where a significant number of people congregate, and/or hihghly visible location with easy convenient access.
It could be a viable secondary offering for some other type of establishment. Think Kinkos, Starbucks, gameroom, something. How about a computer sales/service center that offers internet access with and hourly rate.
For most communities, you'll be competing with the libraries too, so extended hours could be important.
You know. now I know too, just a matter of thinking about it. :-)

most of the ones where i live go out of buisness pretty quick
i wouldnt suggest going into this venture. internet cafe's usually go out of business for many reasons i.e. overcharging, low traffic, unexperienced employees. theres a low success rate but if you stay dedicated and your heart, mind, and money are in the right place anything could happen
frankly its not the in" thing now.. since there are many broadband/internet plans where companies are selling cheap n affordable.. u can suceed but theres alot of factors to consider before going into this venture..
