Cost of Opening Small Restaurant in Los Angeles?

Hello,

I am thinking about opening a small Mexican restaurant in LA. Nothing big, a small mom and pop place, perhaps 6 tables, meals average $7 and no alcohol, maybe later on we could add beer. Anybody knows what the start-up cost would be? Any input will be appreciated! Thank you!

Answer:
About 25,000 to 50,000, it really depends on where U get the place how much rent, what type of equipment you get, what kinds of odds and ends....

if you want a real break down e-mail me

best of luck :)
At least a 100 k and you should be good to go .
It depend what your goal are? If you would like to have one million dollars after one year. Start off with about one million 2 hundred thousand dollars, and do not spend over 2 hundred thousand.
That's really tough with out any other info. You really should have enough in the bank to cover your costs for the first year. Rent, Payroll, and your Insurance are going to be your big ticket items to pay for. I'm not sure what the distributor's terms are in California, but down here in florida, we have Net 30 to pay all invoices (liquor is net 10). I wouldn't plan on making any money the first year. I have opened 6 restaurants (full service, fine dining), and not a one made a profit in the first 12 months.
