I am starting to clean a lady's house for her and don't know how to charge.Any suggestions?

I'd figure out how long you think it will take and then I'd also check local ads either in newspapers or posted in local stores to see what others are charging to clean houses. Is there a Merry Maids in town? If so, I find they are always more money than independents but would give you an idea of the high side.
I prefer being quoted an hourly rate and being told this will take 3 hours or 4 hours.
Sounds pretty complete cleaning. I think that $30/hour is reasonable. I wouldn't charge by the hour (for them) cause then it would be (you're too slow.) but $60-$90 sounds reasonable to me. Climbing up and cleaning ceiling fans every two weeks? yikes.

well when i did this i first decide how long will it take to clean the house and i decide on how much to charge for example;
2 bd bathroom i would stay about maybe 3 1/2 hours and i would charge about 25.00 or 30.00 a week. but my houses was smaller than the one you are doing.
i would think about 60 to 100 for for the month is good.
need to sit down with her and discuss it with her ; I would charge 75.00 then when i do everything that week 125.00
Here in CA, it's at least $20/hr. In the midwest, it's about $12 for higher end cleaning, including outdoor windows. Have you checked out your local paper to see what everyone else is charging? But if she hosts parties, you can make extra bucks cleaning up after the guests per hour!
Make sure you make more than $7-$8 dollars an hour.
