Advise/Suggestions for starting a tax prep buisness?
Answer:
I have a friend that is a tax preparer as well as a bookkeeper she does just fine out of her house. She goes to people's house and collects their paper work and does their taxes. If she needs anything else from them she just emails them or calls them to get the extra information needed. A store front would make sense if you doing a year round business such as bookkeeping, word processing, etc. Otherwise you really can be quite successful at home. You can be locked into a year or two lease when you are a seasonal business. Think about it carefully.
Ask a lawyer they can give you the best advise.
You should look into buying a Jackson-hewlitt (I think that's what they're called) tax franchise I think they are like $20,000
