have you personally hired, trained, and coached staff?

(hello there..i am a college student and this is a part of my research for my school project..i am taking up bachelor of science in commerce major in management accounting..)

Answer:
I MYSELF IS ALWAYS SUPERVISORS THOUGH I HAVE TO WORK ALONE IN THE OFFICE. FIRST OF ALL YOU ARE NOT SUPERVISING PERSON BUT YOU ARE SUPERVISING THE WORK ALLOTTED TO YOU AND YOU GOT SOME PERSON TO HELP YOU TO COMPLETE THE WORK.
700+ in a retail environment.

supervised some
been supervised
been in sports too as athlete later coach
I hired a staff of 5 part-time artists, trained them to the job & supervised them. 4 of the 5 I hired were college educated (I'm not). I hired the very best people for the job, they really didn't need any supervision but employees really do want it, they want leadership and direction. If you hire the very best, you can then be a positive boss. My strategy was always "Good job", "that's great." "You should be proud of yourself." If they did something not quite up to par then I'd say "that's really good, let me show you how to make it even better." I never got upset with them because they were great, but had they screwed up big-time I would've went to my office for 10 minutes and thought about what a mature rational reaction would be. Over-reaction hurts everyone. But all good things must end, my boss called me in and said they needed to cut $25,000.00 from the art programs and that I should lay off all my staff, cut back on art supplies and run the program myself. It broke my heart, I was very fond of my staff. I started to lay off my first staff-artist and said I can't do this. I went to my boss and said "I hired the very best. They are capable of running the program with-out me. If you lay me off instead, you'll save a lot more than $25k and the art program will remain in tact." I was laid off and all my staff cried. Since I left the company has laid all of them off anyway and killed the art program (for mentally retarded artists) and I am still unemployed. I was a great boss, wish I had one.
