In business, what's the difference in a group, corporation and company?

in determining the name for a business

Answer:
A LLC is a limited liability company

A Corporation is a legal entity. You would have to incorporate somewhere, usually the state you are starting in, although that is not a requirement.

A Group is not a legal title that I know of.

None of these labels help in determining a firm's name. Many try to find a name that suggests the service or product sold, others just make something up because it is fun, like "Yahoo".
Corporation is a legal term describing an ownership structure where the organization is owned by shareholders. A group or company could mean a variety of things, corporation included but could also mean partnership, proprietership, etc.
