I have done child day care for 7 years and never needed one. I claimed it all on my taxes but was not required to have a license. However, I am starting a home business baking cakes, cookies and such..will I need a license or is it along the same lines as day care. It will be mostly a seasonal type business---just something on the side.

this would be a retail business working out of your home, most state, city and county business law require you to be licensed and also the health department must inspect your home and place of business for you to operate
go down 2 city hall and get one i got one for my small construction co in texas and it was DIRT cheap
