I've signed up with the county (state of wisconsin) to get certified for in home child daycare where, I can watch children who's parents who receive state aided child daycare funds. I'd be paid by the state instead of the family. I'm just wondering what the certification entails. I've signed up for it, and just want to know what to expect, and be prepaired for.

I don't know about Wisconsin, but in Maryland it's about a 3-6 month process. Everyone in the home over 18 has to have criminal background check. All residents have to have a physical. Fire marshall inspects the home for proper escape routes. Child care admin inspects the home for proper care space and safety violations. You have to have 8-12 hrs of training annualy plus CPR and infant safety courses. There are several websites that can give you tips. Check with the state website, you might find some links there too.
Good luck to you, the world needs excellent caregivers. It's not an easy job.
