What wud make you open a piece of direct mail?

plz give ans that can help me, as i am doing a project

Answer:
It depends what mood I'm in, I will always open direct mail, but when I open it is mood dependent.

Today I opened all my post as soon as it arrived, and recycled three lots of direct mail.

But have spent a lot of time in the last week opening all of my August (and most of July's) direct mail, most of which went straight into the recycle box.
If I was expecting to receive it and/or I knew who sent it.
extreme boredom!
Nothing. They always go straight in the bin. Unless they are disguised as proper post and I open one by accident.
I would open direct mail if it was disquised as something else. I hate it when companies do that.
an unusual bulge in the envelope
Hand addressed. That would show me that the person took the time to send it to me instead of slapping on a label.
Someone staked out by my mailbox, then forcing me to open as I took out my mail.
Announce something for FREE is inside. Works every time!
If it was something i wanted.

and if it wasn't impersonal. i.e i never open post to 'homeowner'.

maybe do it postcard style then people wouln't have to open it as such.
Absolutely nothing. I pick it up from under my letterbox and take it outside and put it straight into my recycling bin. If I want to buy anything I'll do my own searching around for it.
If it says free I'll usually open it and I'll definitely open it if it says free and its from a company I know.
I will open it if the name of the company or the subject have been heard a lot.
Some unique packaging or the possibility of a prize (specifically a prize targeted towards me!)
because I am very inquisitive
