I would invest the $4,000 in safe liquid investments maybe some money market or treasury bill based investments(see a licensed broker for more info) and keep selling real estate. Selling jewelry and handbags will never be successful long term unless you have a source for new bags and a sales emthod that allows you undercut all of your competition.
I think that selling real estate is a great idea.
