How much should i charge to do a simple website for someone?

Answers:
It depends on how many pages it will be. If it's just a home page, about us, contact us, and a couple of other pages, probably about $300 to $500 would be fair. Remember to build in hosting fees, domain registration fees, and e-mail hosting fees.
Today, even kids can create simple websites. I created mine in about 4 hours. What's your time worth? Are you going to need to maintain it for them after it's up (of course, you are).
What is your time going to cost them? If it is simple HTML pages with little or no graphics it is going to be cheaper than when you add flash to the site?

Have you already quoted the client? Is there going to be services after the site is published?

Remember one thing: Sometimes when you charge a fixed price clients have the tendency to chop and change their site the whole time, delaying completion and thus payment.
Depends on the client and how simple it is. I would charge anywhere from $300-800, but if you have no idea what you're doing, then you should charge around $100-$400.
