You might want to find the website (yahoo group) for the local Free-Cycling people. Free-cycling is when you have stuff that you no longer want, that you're not looking to sell, but that you'd like to see someone else use rather than throwing it away. I've given away quite a bit of old computer equipment that way along with an old pellet stove.
No but if you have a lot of them, enough to sell you should find someone who loves music and sell them to that person that way you can make a profit.
I friend of mine turned blank CDs into some awesome jewelry that he sold at craft shows. Make sure to file the sharp edges but the shiny sides are really attractive and with holidays around the corner, you can pick up a few bucks . more than the CDs are worth.
