Im thinking of starting a residential/commercial cleaning service. Should I go independent or franchise?

Do it independantly. A franchise will take a portion of your profits. You will also be "working" for the franchise because they have a lot of rules and regs on how things are to be done.
Hey Robert, for meself it would be much better at first to venture out in your own,. What I want to drag out is if you know the basics of DO'S and DON'Ts w/c I know you do,... (oh, how stupid of me! Pardon me Mate, Anyways) so try to educate them (teach them what you Know) so again be in controll of your own, it would be boubly hard for you cause you'll be doing eveything by yourself but the rewards are all for you to grab. But still its you're choice mate, choose the best among the beast.
do it on your own unless you have no business or promoting skills what so ever . in that case a franchise would help you get started and help your business get up and running but it usual cost a Lot. good luck.
you should totally go solo then you can design your own buisiness and do it the way you want and especially if there isn't any competition.
