I am trying to write a business plan and am seeking info on trends in the daycare arena. Any good sources?
Answer:
ok , it depends as to where are you going to get your information from
1) primary research source- self findingsd , asking other day cares, competitors, people with children, hospitals for birth rates datas, schools for small kids,
2) secondary research - I dont know about USA , but I think there are a lot of companies which maintain data on child care , espicially health care industry, or try to find data from comparble industry , it could be anything like companies which are kids help instruments etc.
Internet is a boon , I guess you can virtually end up with tons of information.
try to do brainstorming and mind mapping , you would actually end up with a lot of new ideas.
You should bennefit from someone elses experience. Use the site below and check out the Starting A Daycare Center Guide. It includes forms, business letters and a complete business plan. Just give it a quick look. This can make things a lot easier and its cheap!
Many states have an organization called Child Care Resource & Referral. This organization has data on typical prices, number of openings, age groups where childcare is most needed, and offers training to daycare providers (necessary to keep your license in many states).
