Very good question. I would say that you have done some research. First off, I agree with you about the MLM. Although I have never worked an MLM, my understanding is that you are basically a salesperson, doing repeat sales. That is fine if that is your cup of tea. As for the money part of it, my wife and l started our business for about about $550.00(factoring in s&p and state taxes.) So if you have 2 grand...put that money back in your pocket. The bottom line here is..do your due diligence. Ask some of the following questions: How long has the company been in business (dont get sucked in with the ground floor opportunity nonsense) question the compensation plan thoroughly, what is their reorder rate? (that is a biggie) You want a company that is not MLM (as you stated in your question) been around for more than 5 years, compensation plans works on residual income, and for example a reorder rate of 95% year in, year out. That will definitely weed out the pretenders.
