Starting a craft business?
Answers:
Hi dreamer, when i started my lawn business in Florida the first thing i did was got a license from the state, some times you may have to get a tax number depending on where you live. Some states are looking for the taxes from your sales, also find out where to sell your crafts and then what kind of clients are going to buy your products,to make a business work is research and hard work and sometimes expensive. You could try just going to the flea market or a yard sale on weekends, to see if you have products the consumer wants.
First check out the market for the products. There are ways to get things done and then there are the right way.
It is important to see if your product[s] are going to do something - potential - and then start with the registration process and everything that goes with that. Why spend if it doesn't go?
How authentic are these crafts? What is the market going to concentrate on? Local, national, African craft?
Allot of homework and then you start!
