Sounds like you would be better off in another field of work. If you still want to work in the food industry, try another restaurant a hotel, or hospital etc. What about visiting a local employment agent? Have a talk with a trained business or labor (labour) hire consultant. They may be able to point you into another field that you could do, and even offer you training so that you will be qualified. If you like working with people then retail may be the way to go. Do you have other skills or training that you could use, eg ex military, your hobbies etc. No matter what, talk with an employment consultant, they are in the business of helping people obtain work that they are good at and like.
go back to school. learn something new, and get a real job. you can also try working at a hospital if you want.
Get a job at a restaurant that doesn't have a bar and closes at night and try to work the day shift!

What else do you like to do? I was in same shoes as you over 10 yrs ago. Went all the way up the food ladder to corporate regional director over a state. That is when I walked out.
Since I had a love and passion for cars, I looked into that. Became a hands on detailer for a year, yea, was a big job cut, but had to learn at the bottom. After a year I started my own detail shop, later to become employed again by a larger shop in turn later to leave and become employed by a touch up paint company in turn later to quit and start my own.
May 10th I celebrated my 10 yr anniversary of doing my paint business. I make 3-5 times what I did in food, I no longer have night hours, weekend hours, no longer smell of food, deal w/ customers, etc.
I just walk used car lots, find cars that need work, write them up, get approved by mgr of lot, do the work, get paid. Do it on my time, when I want, where I want and only I am the boss.
If you have other talents or skills, I'd hit on them. If you need a bouncing board for ideas on how to take your skills and make them a job, email me. Pretty good and getting people started from nothing.
Even taught people how to start a gutter cleaning business for less than $50 yet produce a paycheck of $1000 per wk after taxes and expenses.
