I clean vacant apartments in columbus ohio. I havent received payment for services. What can I do?
Answer:
refuse to work until payment has been recieved, contact your local better business bureau. if that is not affective it doesn't cost that much for a simple civil case.
contact the company you're working for..dont you have some sort of contract that tells you when you get paid or gives you the conditions of payment??
Work for someone else.
Did you fill out a W-4? Can you prove you are owed money? Contact the local Department of Labor to find out what you need to do to get paid.
Also contact the chamber of commerce and better business bureau to find out if this employer has a good history. But they can't enforce anything, it would just be for information.
Check with your local law enforcement agency about your rights. Did you have a contract? If you didn't have a contract, you might not have any legal rights to collect -- it would be your word against your employer's. Also, depending on how much you're owed, maybe small claims court? You want to keep your expenses to a minimum to collect what's owed you.
call the better business bureau, and tenant/landlord burea, if that doesnt work, contact mayors office.
Make sure you have some kind of form of hours worked, schedule, or written clock in clock out sheet, give these places as much worksheets as you can, and any reciepts of any material you paid for, for the job. You should even get paid back for those too.
Please go to the Equal Opportunity Employment Department in your state and report these people. You can also send a Notice of Intent to Sue letter to your job explaing that you are going to sue them if they do not pay you. Legal Aid may help you with this matter. Good Luck!

stop cleaning the apartments. till you get paid for what youv already done
Assuming the amount owed is low, take the person or entity that owes you the money to small claims court. You can find information on filing a claim at http://moritzlaw.osu.edu/shlc/docs/small.
