How old do you have to be to work part time at retail stores?
Answers:
Some department stores will not hire under the age of 18. However, some smaller stores in the mall have been known to hire 16-year-olds. CVS Drugs, at least where I live, hires age 16--yet Walgreens (with nearly identical products) does not hire under 18. Even Walmart's policy is 18, while some home supply stores will hire some 16-year-olds.
Varies state to state, but generally 15 or 16 with a workers permit.
Well I think you can be 16 years old as long as you have a work permit issued by your school, and you can work I think the minium of 20 hours.
try looking at the mall. traget and most baby stores
the age requirement is 16 but that is part time during school you can also get credits for working towards your diploma most retail stores do hire 16 years old so I'm not sure where you live but, it's the same all over, my daughter is working at a retail store. I also worked at 16 in a record store at 16 so check out other stores also, and good luck.
Most employers prefer to hire people over the age of 18 because there are labor laws that are specific to minors. (like how many hours you can work in a day, how late you are allowed to work, etc.) Go to http://www.youthrules.dol.gov/states.htm... to see what the laws are in your state. This might give you a better idea of who might be willing to hire a younger worker.
Good luck!
Individuals between the ages of 16 & 17 can work in any jobs that has not been declared hazadous by the department of labor, e.g: mining, meat packing/processing, etc... Retail is ok.
