The best accountancy software for a small retail shop?

I need something fairly simple and easy to use where I can enter sales for each day, cash payments, supplier invoices and bank transactions. I want to be able to get reports on VAT status, bank balance, monies owed to creditors, takings totals for each day/week/month (preferably across departments as well - I don't want much!) I'm UK based if that makes a difference. Thanks

To do everything you are saying, I would reccommend Sage Instant Accounts. It's a great programme and there's a good help guide on it as well.

MYOB is pretty good. It can record all of your sales, invoices tax, supplier info and just about everything a small business needs. Many accountant agencies use MYOB.

The file created in MYOB can be exported and saved onto other computers as well, so overall, it's a pretty good stuff. If you have basic knowledge on computer, you shouldn't have problem with operating it.

try quickbooks. its easy to use also. and am not so sure if there is euro version of it. i came across the website of quickbooks (us) and saw a free edition. yup, its free... not trial version. so you can use it as long as you want. and if you're not happy with it, simply upgrade or switch to other accounting system.

am using it and its good. atleast i dont have to spend for additional.
