Need to register a domain name. How does that work? Can I get name and then build website?
I have no webpage experience and limited word processing experience. I will create my webpages using Front Page. But I just don't get how it all works. If I get my name and then build my site, how does my site get out to the world wide web? And how do I keep my site from getting buried?

well first off you need to purchase your domain name. You can get one some domains for free but you must include their banner advertising (which they stick on to yoru web page) i forgot the excat procedure but do a search for free domain names and then a search for registering domain names the detials are in there.
Front page is the easiest and best tool to use too.

Once the Web site is setup, have the domain registrar point to the domain name to the IP address of your Web site (or forward to the url of where your Web site lives).
Next, research online the basic tactics of Search Engine Optimization to get found by Google, Yahoo, MSN, Ask, DMoz, etc.
