Babysitting?
In my state I can babysit up to 4 hours.
Now, here is my question:
I get really good grades. I'm 13, responsible, very independant, and I plan on taking the basic care/babysitting class at the local hospital this summer. Would you trust me to baby-sit and how would I get this summer "job" started? Any oher info would be great. Thanks!!

Well, it sounds as if you are taking all the right steps to prepare for this new responsibility.
Talk to your parents and other adult family and friends and ask them to refer you to people they know who have children you might sit with.
Also check with neighbors who know you (don't connect with strangers right now) and see if they know anyone who needs a sitter.
Adults at your school should also know you well enough to recommend you.
Just get that 'networking' thing going girl !

13 is a bit young, IMO, unless I knew you well, maybe a couple hours but IDK.
its important to mention gender, grades in school, your family, and provide a refference if you can such as a school teacher.
The best way would be to put an ad in the classifieds in your local newspaper and on the internet, not sure exactly where on the internet but theres gotta be somewhere. After you take that class it should definately help, people are always looking for babysitters.
the best way to start is go to your neighbors or someone who you and your parents are and can trust.. dont put up flyer and stuff cuz there a lot of "trash" out there.
You and i are alot alike, i'm 13, i love little kids, and i NEED babysitting jobs! SOOO heres what i did. I made a flier that told people my age phone number hwo long is the longest i've babysat for, and how many kids. Then i went around my neighborhood and gave them to people were i could see had little kids. [ hints like, a swing set, toys in there garage, etc.] and it worked. I now have alot more jobs.
You're fine. All you need now is to give out flyers or index cards explaining the services you are offering to people you know
It depends on your personality. If you're someone they really want around their kids, and that's really the parent's call.
I get most of my babysitting jobs from ladies at church, they're always needing someone to watch the kids. My mom also works at a daycare, so I get some from there too. Just tell people you're avaliable if they need someone to watch the kids.
After you take some courses, then yes, i definitely would. However, it depends if the person is over-protective with their kids or if the person cannot trust people. The best way to get started is maybe make ads, put them in mailboxes of houses that you know have kids living their. You might want to include that you have had training courses and prior experience on the flyer. Good luck, and I'm sure you'll do great!
