If you had millions of dollars?

If you were a millionaire would you buy a house or buy land and build your dream home?

Answers:
My dream home isn't a mansion or an estate of some kind, I don't want and/or need that.

I would rather have a nice chunk of land, and build about a 3,000 sq. ft. house on it. Works for me!

Good question..
Buy land ( about 1000 acres) and build my dream house !! Which is a 1 bedroom cabin in the middle !! :) Privacy is worth it !!
Well if I had a million dollars I would pay off all the family bills, then I would take some more and build a house for my family, and put the rest in college funds.I would probably still have a lot left over so I would put some for college for my siblings...and maybe go shopping! a little bit.
That really isn't that much money anymore. It would not buy a house that I would call a "dream". I would buy a nice lot and make my next million and build a home on the lot.
Definitely land and then build. If I go with land first, I can get the best location, and then customize my house so I can have MY dream kitchen, not someone else's version of a nice kitchen!
I would take the money, leverage it into many different real estate investments that were rented and cash flowed for me, and then sell them over time and continue to re-leverage that money.
With some many options, single family, multi-family and commercial property out there, even though a million dollars isn't as much as it used to be...it could easily be used to generate a very stable cash flow, and help to continue to increase wealth for the individual.
As a real estate investor, this is something I have done for many clients.

Ask me how!
I would be satisfied with what i have to live in.Instead of
building myself a dream home,i would provide the elderly,
the under privileged, the handicapped, and displaced families
a facility they could call home, and include training facilities
in it so that all of them could have a chance to overcome the
obstacles in their lives, and be well prepared to one day return
to the work force as a well trained and productive employee.
Then, one day they themselves can provide their own version
of their dream home. Then, after they leave this facility, and are
on the tax roll with their own home, some other person in need
would be able to occupy their spot in the facility until they no
longer needed assistance, and so on. Then, hopefully one day
down the road a place such as this would not be needed,or
not as much anyway.

Then,i would take some of the money and set up a
foundation that would assist people without insurance
to get proper medical screenings , so that things could
possibly get detected in its early stages and possibly
save lives. If more adults had access to this type of service,
it would not only help save their life, but would help preserve
the quality of life for their family.A million dollars donated to
a research group to find a cure would not produce a cure,
but would go a long way in preventing it .

I KNOW THIS WAS NOT THE TYPE OF ANSWER YOU
WERE LOOKING FOR ,BUT THIS IS JUST MY IDEA OF
WHAT I WOULD DO WITH "MILLIONS OF DOLLARS".
