Since 6th April 2007 there has been a new clause about protecting tenant's initial deposits at the end of a tenancy - I would like to know if an agreement taken out in Sept. 2007 needs to change to take this into account - and do you need to update an agreement every time the rent goes up? The rent is being paid by Housing Benefit. On what website can I get an updated downloaded tenancy agreement format?
Answers:
your question centers around a new law which has the effect of writting the clause into every agreement, thus you need not worry about updating your agreement at this time.the new law has been passed reguarding inital deposits.
You do not need to update your tenancy agreement if a law has been passed regarding initial deposits. The law has the effect of writing that clause into every tenancy agreement.
