I can't pay rent until Aug 15th, it's due today 8/3..do I have any rights? What are my options?

I am on a year lease. It's an apartment complex.. in California.

Answer:
Call your landlord and tell them that you won't be able to pay until the 15th for this month only.

Being late once is not the end of the world.

You cannot just be thrown out, nor can you be forced to leave. Some landlords make empty threats in order to intimidate their tenants. If you have a decent landlord, this should not be an issue.

If your lease says you have to pay a late fee, be sure to include it with your rent when you pay on the 15th.
Sounds like irresponsibily to me

fixed the spelling of my previous answer for your reading enjoyment..
oh and i dont believe in kharma
no you don't. just pay the late fee and get over it .sorry.
Talk to your landlord. You may just have to pay a late fee along with it. But you don't want to do that every month.
I would call your landlord and explain the situation. I think you may have a better chance being honest than making up an excuse why you are late paying rent!
talk to the leasing office, they might understand if they have any compassion
usually a late fee will be incorporated. you should talk to your land lord/apartment manager.
Could you ask the land-lord for an extention?
nope you have no rights. Your community has a right to evict you. Have you contacted your landlord and made arrangements? Or is this a constant thing with you?
call and let them know first off. then most likely you'll have to pay some sort of late charge along with it. and it will be posted on your credit report as well.
Apartments will usually give you until the 15th, then they file an eviction notice.
Talk to your apartment people! They will respect that and most likely work with you. You will probablly have like a 25 - 30 dollar fee per day until they recieve your money.
do you have a nice landlord who might give you an extension? and does this have anything to do with financial aid if you are a student?
Just pay the late fee. No big deal. It's important that you are honest and upfront with the apartment staff. Usually they can work out a deal with you.
talk to whoever you rent from and explain your situation
what does your lease say? some complexes are willing to work with you, you will probably accrue a bunch of late fees. maybe they will let you make a partial payment.
Your options are to pay late and include the late fee, and try not to let it happen again. Consult your lease contract to see what penalties are for late payment. They won't evict you for doing this just one time, but if it becomes a habit you may be in trouble.
borrow money, ask your landlord for an extension, check your lease but most places don't care your landlord might be willing to help you out if you've never been late before.
BLOW THE LANDLORD ( OFF ).
All you can do is accept the late fee they're inevitably going to charge you. I've have that problem way too many times for my liking, and it's all you can do. Unless you've got loving relatives who'll lend you the money.
Let your landlord know, and you will most likely be ok.
Sounds like you need to move into a cardboard box for a few weeks!
what about your landlords rights?
Rights? You think you have a right to not live up to a signed contract? Grow up. If you can't pay, the best course of action is to immediately call your landlord, tell them you can't pay today, and also when you will pay them and then don't miss that date. You will also have to pay a late charge.
Have you contacted your landlord and explained the situation?
I've had problems and been a bit late before, and if you're up front about it, a most always (if not always) they will work with you (as long as its not a regular thing, then they are liable to get a bit cranky about it.) The worst you're likely to face is a late fee.
you do have rights and you should tell them your situtation and you will probably have to pay a late fee on the 15th but they will not just kick you out
You dont have any rights. Come out a the people dem place.
Not if you signed a contract. Sometimes they will bend the rules. Depends on the owner. Good luck!
Call your landlord and be honest. There will be late fee, but if you truly pay it on the 15th, you probably will not be kicked out.especially if you are a good tenant.
Your rights are to pay your rent when it's due!
Try being responsible.
Your landlord has bills to pay too.
