Check out forsalebyowner.com and mls.com. You can also do a search on real estate agency's private webpages like weichert.com, prudential, century21 and others that seel in your area. Check out local newspapers to see prices. Here in Long Island, NY, an average 1bd/1bath condo is roughly $300K plus taxes and common charges. I am doing the same process right now. GOOD LUCK!
Sadly the best place to look for an inexpensive Condo or Townhouse, is outside of Northern New Jersey. Try NorthEast Pennsylvania.
you should probably ask a local real estate agent. there are tons of good new jersey agents on this directory: http://www.realestateforsaleinnewjersey..

and i'm pretty sure a bunch of them specialize in condos/townhouses. hopefully that helps some ;)
Because of its close proximity to NYC, nothing in northern NJ is inexpensive.
