I am having problems with my home owners warranty company, what should I do?
Recently my refrigerator went bad so I contacted the warranty company and they sent out a technician and the problem was with an old compressor and since the Refrigerator is 20 years old he said he would put in for a recommendation to replace and since then I getting the run around from the Warranty company.
I been calling me to get updates and no one will either return my call and one person actually told me to call the repair company to arrange for a replacement and I called the company and they told me the don't do sells and wondered why the rep would of done that. But I been wondering if what they are doing is legal because it sounds like a deceptive scam.
Answer:
Before hiring a lawyer try to report the company to the Better Business Bureau. So far with the 3 complaints I have had with various companies I have been able to settle any disputes. Most companies do not like negative ratings to be associated with the company. Go to BBB.org and submit a complaint there. I hope you get some luck.
get a property attorney as a friend to give free advice and managementt like I have
Really you cannot do anything legally they have all the liability's that exist. Its bettet if you find your own services some place else because all the home warranty will do is tell you that the service you need its not included in the the contract or if it is included they will over charge you. So its better just to find your own handyman to do the job you need. And never againg get Home Owners Warranty when you buy a house.
Find out who the sales rep is for your home warranty company. If you were represented by a realtor when you bought your home he or she will know. The sales rep for the home warranty company works with realtors in the area to get business for their company. It stands to reason that the home warranty sales rep will want to keep your realtor happy because they depend on realtors for their business. Your realtor wants you to be happy so that you will send referrals and use them again in the future. If you contract call for the refrigerator to be covered and you cannot get the replacement you were promised you can take the Home Warranty company to small claims court.
