Is it ethical to install a surveillance camera in my front yard?

Ok in the front yard.it becomes a sticky situation when you put one in your back yard, and then your wifes girlfirends come over, drink too much and go skinniy dipping in the pool. I am still trying to decide if I shoud tell anyone, get rid of the tape, or what. Maybe after watch it a few more times, I will know what to do.

ethical? what would make it UNETHICAL? when you're outside your own home, you're at risk of being photographed, filmed, videotaped, surveilled by anyone anywhere anytime. ethical? NOT AN ISSUE!!
It's your property. Generally, if you're surveiling your own property you're in accordance with the law.
It's more unethical for people to steal people's property.

I sure hope so. We are going to the store named "I Spy" to see if we can get some equipment for the same thing. You can check with your local city hall & police station.
It depends of your purpose. If it is there to protect your property, it is completely ethical. If it is there to keep tabs on your neighbors, it is unethical.
