Is it common for expensie houses that are not selling to become unlisted?

Do people often take their houses that aren't selling after 6 months off the market? Why?

Answer:
Yes, it’s very common especially if it’s a "soft market" and when they seller do not get the asking price and can afford to keep the house. It’s also common when the agreement with the realtor expired and they do not wish to re-list it with him/her.
Houses that stay on market too long often give excuses for buyer to ask for further discount. So, realtors/agents would take the house off market and relist them later.
