Is it better for realtors in California than a state not high in cost of living?

like is the market good for realtors in California in the L.A or San Diego area? or not relaly cuz of too much competition ? so try another state? yet make alot of money potentially

Answer:
Well they take a %, so higher property prices are beneficial on the face of things. But you have to consider competition, which you already point out might be greater in an area like Southern California.

You also have to remember realtors live there, so their own cost of living is higher. Whether it works out as an advantage when it all shakes down I don't know, but I'm guessing not for your average realtor.
making money in real estate takes time and lots of effort no matter where you live. but yes, agents make at least 6 percent on the sale price of the house. they have to split this with the Broker, but it's still a very good commission if the house is worth millions of dollars.
There will be competition in any market. Choose a place that you like and can become passionate about. Real estate is a people business, as such, you'll be more successful working and living in an area when there are people like you.
