I am considering relocating to Manassas or Fredericksburg,need some input,please.No need to commute to DC.?

Looking to be close to DC,to buy an affordable townhouse ( cant afford home there..)need a good school system for my child.Also how is a traffic in Manassas and around Fredericksburg?and if thouse are cities you would choose to live...
What are good affordable neibourhoods.
Mayby any other city??

Fredericksburg is about 2 hours from DC. You have to either ride the VRE or Amtrak; or get a hybrid car so you can go to the HOV lanes. Fredericksburg is more affordable than counties closer to DC (Arlington, Fairfax) but it is not that near.

Prince William County is nearer to DC, and there are places that are affordable.

Manassas -- well you can ride the VRE as well. Traffic however is worse with !-66 but there are affordable houses. Other Questions and Answers:
