Answer:
I won't say that these seminars don't work, but be VERY wary. Theoretically, many of the techniques offered in these seminars will work, but putting them to practical use may be difficult. Just enter the name of the seminar/presenter in the yahoo or google search engine and see what pops up. There is usually no shortage of people that claim to have attended the seminar that offer their opinions on the web. Some will be good . some will be bad.
In general, the only people that "get rich quick" with these types of seminars, are the presenters!
If these people could make money on real estate, would they need you and your money?
I paid $200 to attend a 3 day seminar that completely sparked my interest in real estate investing. It was there that they asked for a few thousand dollars for the next level of training. I declined the next level, but waked away with enough information to talk to professionals in different fields. agents, financial lenders, title agents, ..these people can give you more valuable information and they give it to you for little to no money. The $200 was what I paid for motivation!
THINK OF IT THIS WAY: The people giving the seminars are in the SEMINAR business, not the REAL ESTATE business. They make money giving seminars, not from investing. They offer good information, but nothing you couldn't get from some one else for free who does it ever day hands on!
Do your homework. Lots of this stuff can be done for free. Don't pay for those foreclosure listings.. There are some major scams out there, just do your homework.
